Violet CTP Plate Processor

 

Plate processor is amachine thatdevelops printingplates. The emulsionon a printing plateis water-solublebefore it's exposed.When it's exposed,whether toultraviolet light,purple light or heat(depending on thekind of plate you'reusing), the exposedareas becomeinsoluble. You putthe exposed plate inthe entry.

There isfirst a spray bar--atube with lots ofholes in it--thatapplies a soap &water solution tothe plate. Next, arotating brush withsoft bristlesremoves theunexposed parts ofthe emulsion.Following that are aseries of spray barsthat wash the platewith water. Nextcomes a squeegee andwarm air to dry theplate.

A final spraybar applies gumarabic to the plateto preserve it, anda final blast ofwarm air dries thegum. When the plateemerges from themachine, it'sprocessed, gummed,dried and ready toprint with.
